I vanlig ordning och pÃ¥ ungefär samma tid som alla andra dagar lämnade vi campingen via den smala och slingriga kustvägen till Oban. Denna dagen är det inte inplanerat sÃ¥ mycket. Vi ska till Arduaine Garden och sedan transportera oss till Kennacraig för att därifrÃ¥n via färja Ã¥ka över till Port Ellen pÃ¥ Islay. Medan Gun och Lennarth gick i Arduine Garden satt Terese och Patrik pÃ¥ Loch Melfort Hotel och drack The och kaffe och Ã¥t short bread. Gun och Lennarth tyckte trädgÃ¥rden var mycket intressant med mÃ¥nga roliga variationer av växter hemifrÃ¥n. Efter att vi kört en bit stannade vi efter Kilmartin för en lunchrast. Där hade dom ocksÃ¥ nÃ¥gra stencriklar som vi tittade pÃ¥ efter lunch. Sedan körde vi en mindre väg dÃ¥ vi faktiskt hade mycket tid över innan färjan till Islay gick. Genom att göra denna lilla â?omvägâ? fick vi även se Crinan Canal. Sedan letade vi efter en Co-Op i Lochgilphead. Patrik har sett att dom har Balvenie Double Wood billigt där. Efter lite körande hittade vi det och Patrik fick köpa sin Whisky. När detta var avklarat Ã¥kte vi till Tabert och gick runt lite i stan, Ã¥t glass, mm. Sedan Ã¥kte vi till färjeläget och hämtade biljetterna. Vi Ã¥kte sedan vidare pÃ¥ vägen söderut tills vi hittade en rastplats som visade sig ha en fin sandstrand, sÃ¥ Gun tog ett snabb dopp i havet. PÃ¥ färjan Ã¥t vi en liten middag. PÃ¥ färjan träffade vi även pÃ¥ nÃ¥gra svenskar. NÃ¥gra frÃ¥n Stockholm som flugit till Glasgow och skulle bila i Skottland. Vi träffade även ett gäng damer som skulle cykla pÃ¥ Islay. När vi anlände pÃ¥ Islay Ã¥kte vi direkt ut till Kintra Farm där Campingen lÃ¥g. Tälten ställdes upp pÃ¥ gräsbeklädda sandbankar precis vid stranden, kvällsmat Ã¥ts, sedan var det dags för sängen.
July 27 – Arriving Isle of Islay
In the usual way and roughly the same time as all the other days we left the camping site by the small and winding coastal road to Oban. We hadn’t planned so much today.. We are going to Arduaine Gardens and then on to Kennacraig from there a ferry ride over to Port Ellen on Islay. While Gun and Lennarth went in to Arduine Gardens Terese and Patrik sat in Loch Melfort Hotel and had tea and coffee and shortbread. Gun and Lennarth thought the gardens were very interesting and had many different variations of plants which we had at home. Driving a little further we stopped at Kilmartin for lunch then we drove a smaller road since we had lots of time before the ferry went to Islay. By taking a detour we got to see Crinan Canal. In Lochgilphead we searched for a Co-op, Patrik had seen that they had Balvenie Double Wood which was cheaper there. After driving around we found it and Patrik bought his whisky. We drove to Tabert and took a walk around the town, ate ice-cream, etc. We then drove to the ferry terminal and picked up our tickets. We continued to drive south until we found a place to stop, and found a very nice beach, so Gun had a quick dip in the sea. We had food on the ferry and met some Swedes. They were from Stockholm and had flown to Glasgow then were going to drive around Scotland. We also met a group of ladies who were going to cycle round Islay. When we arrive on Islay we drove directly up to Kintra Farm where the camping site was. The tents were put up on grass covered sanddunes by the beach. We ate supper, then it was time for bed.
July 26 – Oban
We woke up at a reasonable time. After getting ready and having breakfast we followed one of the guidebooks tips, to follow the road through Glen Nevis to the end. When this was done we drove back to Fort William and then continued south. When we came closer to Glen Coe we discovered a road round Loch Leven. We stopped at a Shell station in Glen Coe which had nearly everything. After Lennarth bought a plastic hammer for the tent pegs we continued on our way to Oban. Immediately when we came to Oban we chose as we had earlier to drive out to the camping site, to make sure we would have a pitch for the tents. When the pitches were organised and lunch was eaten we went for a walk around the town, book places at McTavish’s visit the distillery and Craig’s Tower. Oban is a very beautiful harbour town. It has a lively center and as usual pleasant people. At the distillery Patrik learned how to drink Daluine the proper way, a very nice experience. He even bought an Oban Distiller Edition. After our walk around the town center we drove back to the camp site to prepare for the evening. McTavish’s Kitchen was an exciting experience. Lennarth ordered Haggis, which was really tastey and filling. When we were enjoying our dessert and coffee the Scottish Show started and continued for two hours. Lots of bagpipes, fiddles and accordions, highland fling and gaellic songs. We then drove back to the camping site and slept.
Oban
Vi vaknade på ganska vanlig tid. Efter morgontoalett och frukost följde vi en utav guideböckernas tips, att följa vägen genom Glen Nevis till slutet. När detta var avklarat åkte vi tillbaka till Fort William och sedan vidare söderut. När vi närmade oss Glen Coe upptäckte vi en väg runt Loch Leven. Efter att vi stannade vi en Shell mack i Glen Coe som hade nästan allt. När Lennarth köpt en plasthammare till tältpinnarna åkte vi vidare mot Oban. Direkt när vi kom till Oban valde vi som tidigare att åka ut till Campingen, så att vi inte skulle bli stående utan tältplatser. När platserna var fixade och lunchen uppäten åkte vi in till stan för att gå runt i centrum, boka plats på McTavish´s, besöka destilleriet och Craig´s Tower. Oban är en väldigt vacker hamnstad. Mycket livligt centrum och som vanligt trevliga människor. På destilleriet fick Patrik sig en kurs i hur man dricker Daluine, en mycket trevlig upplevelse. Han köpte även med sig en Oban Destiller Edition hem. Efter genomgången av centrum åkte vi tillbaka till campingen för att förbereda oss för kvällen. McTavish´s Kitchen var en spännade upplevelse. Lennarth beställde en Haggis, vilket var riktigt gott och mättande. När vi njöt av efterrätt och kaffe började deras Scottish Show som varade i två timmar. Massor med säckpipa, fiol och dragspel, highland fling och gaelisk sång. Efteråt åkte vi tillbaka till campingen och sov.
July 25 – Fort William
After all the lie-ins we had on Skye the last morning wasnât. We got up 6 öâclock so that we wouldnât have to rush to the ferry which went at 10.15 but the journey to the ferry terminal which lay on the other side of the island went smoothly as the roads were fairly empty. We actually made the earlier ferry at 8.50. 
When we arrive at Mallaig the journey began towards Glenfinnan to see the Glenfinnan Monument and Aqueduct and Patrik wanted to dip his feet in Loch Shiel.
We then continued towards Fort William. When we came to Fort William we drove directly to Glen Nevis camping site to make sure we had a pitch. When we had pitched the tents and eaten lunch we drove to Ben Nevis Distillery and was that a disappointment, ugly house and boring shop. Patrik bought a liten 10 year old Single Malt Ben Nevis whisky so he could taste it to see if it was anything for him. We then went to the Caledonian Canal to look at the locks. When we were satisfied with that we drove via Inverloch Castle and then into the town centre âHigh Streetâ?. 
There were plenty of souvenir shops, so Terese was happy and there were plenty of Whisky shops to keep Patrik happy. Patrik bought an Old Ballantrau. which he later discovered was recommended by âThe Whisky Magazineâ?, great happiness. After our shopping and a coffee we drove back to the camping site and had dinner. Patrik decided after dinner to climb part of Ben Nevis. He was gone an hour and climbed quite a bit up the mountain which take approximately 5-6 hours to climb. We then posted our postcards and planned the following days journey. To Oban, Glencoe, Islay, Stirling etc.
Fort William
Efter alla sovmornar på Skye blev den sista inte det. Vi gick upp kl 06.00 för att inte behöva stressa till färjan som gick 10.15. Men färden till färjeläget som låg på nästan andra sidan ön, gick smärtfritt då vägarna var ganska tomma. Vi kom till och med en tidigare färja, 08.50. Efter att vi anlänt till Mallaig började resan mot Glenfinnan där vi tänkte titta på Glenfinnan Monument och Aqueduct och Patrik ville doppa fötterna i Loch Shiel.
Sedan Ã¥kte vi vidare mot Fort William. Väl framme i Ã¥kte direkt till Glen Nevis Camping för att inte missa att fÃ¥ en plats. Efter att vi ställt upp tälten och ätit lunch Ã¥kte vi till Ben Nevis Destillery. Vilket faktiskt var en besvikelse. Fult hus och trÃ¥kig shop. Patrik köpte en liten 10yo Single Malt Ben Nevis, bara för att smaka senare om den är nÃ¥got att ha. Efter det besöket Ã¥kte vi till The Caledoinian Canal för att titta lite pÃ¥ slussarna. När vi var nöjda med det Ã¥kte vi via Inverloch Castle in till centrum och â?High Streetâ?. Patrik köpte en Old Ballantraun, som han senare upptäcker rekommenderas av â?The Whisky Magazineâ?, lyckan är stor. Efter vÃ¥ra inköp och en fika Ã¥kte vi tillbaka till campingen och Ã¥t middag. Efter middagen bestämde sig Patrik för att bestiga Ben Nevis en bit. Han var borta i en timma och kom ganska lÃ¥ngt upp pÃ¥ berget som tar ca 5-6 timmar att bestiga. Sedan postades det lite vykort och planera framtida dagar pÃ¥ resan. Till Oban, Glencoe, Islay, Stirling, mm.
July 25 – In Fort William
Now we are in Fort William. Terese had 15 minutes on an Internet Café in the High Street. She wanted to check if money had been drawn from her account in Edinburgh when she didn’t get any money from the ATM. I would just like to inform you who read this blogg that a journey diary will be published just as soon as we have a little more time to input it.
We are having a good time, it is warm and nice. We have looked at lots of castles, ruins, and whisky. The people are kind and helpful.
Är i Fort William
Nu ar vi i Fort William. Terese skaffade sig 15min pa ett Internet Cafe pa High Street. Hon ville kontrollera om det dragits pengar fran hennes konto i Edinburgh da hon inte fick ut nagra pengar fran en ATM. Ville bara meddela er som laser bloggen att en resedagbok kommer upp har sa fort vi far lite mera tid att lagga in den.
Vi har det jattebra, det ar varmt och skont. Vi har tittat pa massor med slott, runier och whisky. Folket har ar underbart snalla och hjalpsamma.
Isle of Skye
Dagen börjar med lätt regn vilket gör att vi tar oss en liten sovmorgon. När vi är redo åker vi norrut mot Old Man of Storr. Enligt våra guideböcker ska det ta ca 30min att gå upp till klippan. Men oj vilken klättring det blev. Vi hamnade till slut uppe i molnen. Vilken häftig klippa, otroligt att den inte ramlat omkull. Vilken utsikt de var också. Nerfärden gick desto snabbare. 
Efter en snabb liten lunch vid Kilt Rock for vi vidare mot vägen mellan Staffin och Uig som ska vara väldigt vackar då man kör genom bergskedjan Quirang. Vi stannade till lite snabbt intil platsen där The Table, The Needle och The Prison finns i bergskedjan, men i ansåg att vi inte hade tid att gå ut till platsen (tar ca 1h tor). 
Vi Ã¥kte istället vidare mot Dunvegan via Uig. Lite motvilligt belade vi för att komma in till slottet. Men vi fick ju gÃ¥n in det ocksÃ¥ och titta pÃ¥ trädgÃ¥rden. Väl inne i slottet kändes det som tidigare, Blair Castle hade redan allt det som erbjöds här. Det som var det mest intressanta var â?The Fairy Flagâ? en trasig sidentygbit frÃ¥n nÃ¥gonstans mellan det 5:e och 8:e Ã¥rhundradet. Gammal med andra ord.
Efter en snabb genomgÃ¥ng av slottet och trädgÃ¥rden Ã¥kte vi vidare mot Talisker Destilleriet. Destilleriet ligger vacker direkt pÃ¥ stranden Loch Harport. Men utsidan imponerar inte lika mycket som Blair Atholl. Shoppen var ok, men de Whiskysorter som intresserade Patrik lÃ¥g i det över prisskiktet. Vi stannade till vid Aros Experience för att titta pÃ¥ vad det var. Dete visade sig vara en riktig turistfälla. Full med onödiga turistsaker. Vi Ã¥kte vidare till â?The Lower Deckâ? för att köpa lite Fish and Chips to go. Maten Ã¥ts pÃ¥ campingen, Patrik drack en av sina ale´s till maten.
July 24 – Isle of Skye
The day starts with light rain so we have a lie-in. Then we are ready we drive north towards the Old Man of Storr. According to our guidebook it should take 30 minutes to go up to the cliff. What a climb it turns out to be. We ended up in the clouds.. What a cool cliff, unbelievable that it hasnât fallen over. What a view. Downhill went a lot quicker. After a quick bite to eat by Kilt Rock we continue our journey between Staffin and Uig which is said to be very beautiful as one drives through the mountain range Quirang. We made quick stops beside The Table, The Needle and The Prison in the mountain range but realised that we didnât have time to go out to the place (takes roughly one hour return). We drove instead to Dunvegan via Uig. A little against our will we paid to get in to the castle, but we also got to go into the gardens. Inside the castle it felt familiar due to the fact that Blair Castle had already shown everything which we saw here. That which was most interesting was a scrap of satin material âThe Fairy Flagâ? from between the 5th and 8th century. Ancient in otherwords.
After a quick look at the castle and gardens we drove to Talisker Distillery. The Distilleryis beautifully located by the beach at Loch Harport. The outside wasnât as impressive as Blair Atholl. The shop was ok. The whisky range which interested Patrik was in the upper price class. We stopped at Aros Experience to see what it was. It really was a tourist trap, filled with unnecessary tourist souvenirs. We continued on to âThe Lower Deckâ? to buy Fish and Chips. The food was eaten at the camp site, Patrik drank one of his aleâs to his food.
